Dear Sitel Barkada,

Today, Muslims in the Philippines are celebrating Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice. Sitel Philippines joins the Muslim community in promoting love and kindness, values which this celebration stands for.

If Sitel were a country, it’s a small but multicultural one. Multicultural countries are often the most interesting, what with their food, architecture, arts, and traditions reflecting a kaleidoscope of influences. But as much as it makes for a richly textured life for its citizens, multiculturalism also poses challenges, with building a sense of unity chief among them.

Sitel has found the answer to the unity question: sports. If you’ve seen the Olympics or gone to a football game, you know the tremendous power of sports to bind people toward a common goal. That’s why in 2018, we launched Sitelfit, a platform where our 75,000 associates from varied parts of the globe and speaking 25 languages could accomplish just that.

The Sitelfit web site, built on the United Heroes system, ( enables associates to track their progress in their chosen sport and compare it vis a vis those of their colleagues. Since 2018, we have taken advantage of this progress-tracking function to rally Sitel associates in EMEA, Americas, and APAC regions to reach seemingly audacious but worthy common goals: 1. to collectively cover a total of 75,000km in 2018 (SMILES) ; 2. to earn a total of 4 million points from running, walking, swimming, cycling, working out at the gym, or skiing in 2019; 3. to rack up a total of 10 million points by the end of the year in 2020 (#OneSmallChange)

On August, we’re upping the stakes. In a new challenge, the Step Forward, Give Back Challenge, we’re not only aiming to reach a certain number of points; we’re also raising money for charity. The ultimate goal is to reach 1 million points by the end of August, which Sitel has committed to donate $15,000 to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) when reached.

I encourage you to join the challenge as this is an opportunity for us to make an impact on disadvantaged children around the world, whose lives are put at an even greater risk by the COVID-19 pandemic. Protecting the most vulnerable — could there be a more meaningful cause to unite around?
