Kabarkadas across Philippine sites have been doing initiatives to help their respective communities get through the rigors of the pandemic. Sitel OJV-Technopoint, Pioneer, Eton and Tarlac opened community pantries that offered free food and essential supplies to associates and community residents. Sitel Baguio and Palawan provided care packages containing food to those associates who were staying in quarantine.

Aside from donating care packages, Sitel Baguio also recently paid it forward to their community by donating blood. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the May Dugong Bayani Bloodletting was held onsite from June 1 to 4, where a total of 47 associates and staff donated blood.  This is the 14th time the activity was held in Baguio since 2008.

To be a donor, the associate must generally be in good health condition; weigh 50 kilograms and above; have slept at least five hours before the day of donation; and have not taken alcohol before donating, among other qualifications.

The next bloodletting will be held on September 2021, said Marifi Soriano, Senior HR Generalist.
