Manila, Philippines – On its 18th Anniversary, Sitel® Baguio made the magic happen with a glamorous and festive celebration last July 23, 2022 at the Newtown Plaza Events Center in Baguio City.
Making The Magic Happen for the Associates
With the theme “Making The Magic Happen,” this milestone is focused on celebrating the 3,000 associates of Sitel® Baguio, especially those who have made significant contributions to the cluster’s growth and success in the past years. To continue recognizing people’s loyalty, Sitel® Baguio confers the Pillar Awards (10 year tenure) and Kinsenyera Awards (15 year tenure) during the anniversary celebration. 50 associates were recognized as Pillar Awardees and 53 were acknowledged as Kinsenyera Awardees. 4 associates were also recognized as Sitel Core Values Awardees as they continue to effectively uphold the four core values of the company — Be Bold, Build Trust, Work Together and Wow Customers.
Theresa Mendoza, one of the Kinsenyera Awardees, considers her stay with Sitel Baguio as both challenging yet fulfilling, adding that it is an honor for her to be a part of the company for almost half of her life. “The grass where you are will only be greener when you water it. We were not born to talk or walk, we learned that in the process as we grow older. We do not wake up setting ourselves to fail. Being an associate here and staying for almost half of my life is really challenging yet fulfilling,” Mendoza adds, citing her Sitel experience is a learning process that she enjoys along with her colleagues and mentors.
Sitel Baguio also recognizes the hard work and strength of its associates, hence the awarding of the Top Performers. For the first half of the year, the site’s top performers were based on key metric and scorecard performance of the respective logos.
Apart from employee and performance recognitions, the anniversary celebration also became an avenue for the associates to share their talent. From an initial 11 contenders, six have advanced to the final showdown of Sitel Baguio Got Talent and showcased show stopping performances before the judges. Associates Sheniah Pitallano, Janice Capuz, and Amoriele Busacay were hailed winner, 2nd place, 3rd place respectively, and each won cash prizes.
“Best BPO” in Northern Luzon
More than 500 people attended the anniversary celebration, including Vice Presidents for Operations, Ian Zafra and Sathish Vijayakumar; and Dustin Walker, Area Director of Operations of Sitel Group®. Cementing the stature of Sitel Baguio as one of the biggest private employers in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong also recognized the company as “the best BPO” in Northern Luzon, adding that its contribution to the economy of the city is huge.
Sitel Baguio has made excellent growth and breakthroughs since its inception in the Philippines in 2004. Starting with two logos, the cluster now has 17 logos and more to come. Presently, Sitel Baguio has expanded to four sites — Baguio 1,2,3 and Baguio Cyber. The first MAXhubs were also installed here, allowing people to work closer to their homes during the height of the pandemic. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has also recognized and nominated Sitel Baguio as a model company for its COVID-19 safety measures.
