Dear Sitel Barkada,

In the last two months, we have opened several new facilities called MAXHubs. These are former Internet shops, restaurants, and event halls we converted into brick-and-mortar contact centers. Although smaller than a typical Sitel site, a MAXhub has everything a contact center needs: a recruitment hub, training area, IT support and production area. So far, we have been operating 10 MAXhubs in these locations: Puerto Princesa and El Nido in Palawan; San Fernando in La Union; Urdaneta City and Dagupan in Pangasinan; Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija; Angeles City in Pampanga.

The project is part of Sitel’s response to the pandemic. By opening these MAXhubs near residential communities, we’re bringing the workplace closer to agents’ homes, sparing them the long commutes to work and lessening the risk of them catching COVID-19.

I am happy to report that people welcome the presence of MAXhubs in their communities. In La Union, we recently hired an agent who used to work overseas. Ley Vasquez, the agent, says it is not easy to decide to stay home in the Philippines for good, especially when you’re used to the comfortable lifestyle working abroad affords you and your family. “Job search has been extra-difficult, but because of the Maxhub’s location, people like me are given a chance to be employed by one of the best companies,” says Ley. “Bringing it closer to my hometown makes it more convenient and safer for us.”

In Urdaneta, Beverly Daileg, another agent, had been looking for a job for as long as six months until she was hired by Sitel. “I was grateful when I heard that a MAXhub will be set up at Urdaneta,” Beverly says. “I am already looking forward to the opportunities that will open for other people here in Urdaneta and nearby towns because of Sitel. I am amazed that people no longer have to go far for a job with competitive salary.”

“The MAXhub in Urdaneta is the best thing that happened in my area since the pandemic began,” said Roderick Guadiz, another Urdaneta kabarkada.

The past months have been challenging for everyone at Sitel, but it is comforting to hear kind words like these. These were gathered by our La Union and Urdaneta teams; more quotes from kabarkadas can be seen in these MAX Connect article:

To all our new kabarkadas in La Union, Urdaneta, and those in other MAXhubs and Sitel sites, thank you for trusting Sitel. We will see to it that choosing us is among the best decisions you have ever made.
