Associates and leaders at Sitel® Palawan continue to work together and make a difference in the community through their various social responsibility programs. Some of these activities are the Brigada Eskuwela and Adopt-a-School program that benefit hundreds of students at Talaudyong Elementary School.
Brigada Eskuwela Campaign
Last August 20, 38 volunteers from Sitel Palawan participated in the Brigada Eskuwela activity in preparation for the face-to-face opening of classes. 15 sets of bags with school supplies for Grade 1 students and other construction and painting materials were turned over to Talaudyong Elementary School. A total of 304 hours was spent for volunteerism activities like repainting of classrooms and minor repairs of some facilities.
Volunteers were also able to conduct storytelling activity for the 1st Graders and a luncheon with volunteer parents and students, all provided by Sitel Palawan. Cluster leaders Vice President Eden Gutierrez, Site Director Jen Joloc, and Learning Director Jerome Rubico, together with Talaudyong Elementary School OIC Ronelo Bermudez were also present to discuss the Adopt-a-School and reading comprehension program for the students.
Brigada Pag-Basa of Sitel Palawan
To further the cluster’s advocacy in helping enrich the skills and talents of students, Sitel Palawan launches an adopt-a-school program called Brigada Pag-Basa aimed in helping Grade 1-4 students of the same elementary school improve their reading comprehension skills. Starting on September 24, volunteers from Sitel Palawan will facilitate a 2-3 hour reading session for the selected students of the partner school.
Rubico shared that the team wants to make sure that they will provide a sustainable and long-term assistance to the adopted school, hence the Brigada Pag-Basa volunteer program of the cluster. “This way, we know that we are really making an impact to the knowledge and skills of the students. More than donating supplies, we volunteer time”, he added.
