August 5, 2022 – Sitel® Philippines reiterated its support to a diverse, safe and equitable workplace for its LGBT+ associates and Filipinos at the latest Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) Summit. The summit brought together advocates and key players in the LGBT+ ecosystem (Business, Government, Academe/Youth, and Non-Governmental Organizations). It was the largest and the only LGBT+ Conference of its kind in the Philippines and has an audience estimated over 700 individuals from a multitude of industries and geographies.

As a platinum sponsor, Sitel Philippines sent 18 delegates at Okada Manila and 10 more who attended the summit virtually. Representatives are core members of our employee resource groups (ERGs) – BeProud and WELead – and allies from HR and Marketing.

Sitel Philippines also led a breakout session entitled Women on Top: Women Leaders as Advocates of Change.

The breakout session was hosted by Sr. Manager for Organizational Development Hiroki Revereza while VP for HR and Diversity, Equity and Inclusive (DEI) Sponsor Pam Donato delivered the keynote speech and sat as a panelist along with other women leaders: Ivic Mueco from Optum Global Solutions, Maxine Deluna from Cognizant and Bernadatte Neri from the University of the Philippines.

VP for HR and Diversity, Equity and Inclusive (DEI) Sponsor Pam Donato leads a breakout session that tackles women leadership at the PFIP Pride Summit

During her speech, Pam shared three things she learned from her adventure as an advocate of women, LGBQTIA+ and persons with disabilities:

1.    As a woman, own your story.
2.    Real change can be seen in policies.
3.    ERGs should be real safe spaces for women, LGBTQIA+, and persons with disabilities.

Other breakout sessions include panel discussions on best practices for running D&I groups, mental health discussions, queer influencing, LGBT+ advocacy, SOGIE voices and more.

“The summit has given us another opportunity for the Sitel Group® leaders to show commitment in creating safe spaces for LGBT+, women and persons with disabilities,” shared Hiroki who is also one of the lead organizers of the company’s participation along with the core group members of BEProud.

Sitel® Philippines, through our ERGs, supportive leaders, associates and long-standing partnership with PFIP, remains committed to growing our efforts to DEI in the many years to come. We have a best-in-class, inclusive benefits which along with other coverage include counselling services and mental health webinars, health insurance for dependents (domestic, common law or same-sex partners), medical coverage for HIV, AIDS, and AIDS-related diseases.

About the event

The theme Habi: Weaving Synergies in the Philippine LGBT+ Ecosystem recognizes the key players in the LGBT+ ecosystem (Business, Government, Academe/Youth, and Non-Governmental Organizations) as the first step for the community to come together and find opportunities for collaboration for a society safer and more inclusive of our pride community. It recognizes that a thriving community working together to drive common goals will help break the glass ceilings across industries and increase visibility and representation in the Philippines.
